Hey leafeaters - 2004/09/16 05:51 I've been lurking around here today reading all the anti meat posts. I'm just wondering how the hell you people can eat vegetation only day in and day out and actually say you enjoy it. I find that extremely hard to believe. Don't get me wrong, I love a good chef salad and corn and beans but not alone and every day.
Honestly if I had a choice of eating a salad or eating a thick juicy T-Bone steak you can bet that I'm taking that tasty slab of beef. Can you honestly say with any sincerety that you people actually enjoy eating soyburgers?
Gimme a friggin' break!
Tailgate parties....Brats, burgers
Summertime cookouts....Burgers, steaks, ribs, chicken
Fast foods....KFC, meat lovers pizza, burgers, etc. etc.
Yeah you get the big picture. Veggies are good but without meat as part of the meal it's just boring.

re:Hey leafeaters - 2004/09/17 00:12 Umm, I think you need to make an honest and fair comparison and see if the difference is so "enormous." Most comparisons I've seen my fellow vegetarians make have been quite skewed.

Any food you don't grow yourself likely results in the death of animals, whether you eat their flesh or not.

re:Hey leafeaters - 2004/09/17 10:31 As I wrote, you're too stupid to see otherwise.

Your life is constrained by ignorance, arrogance and a blind adherence to custom and practice.

re:Hey leafeaters - 2004/09/17 18:48 A typically fat dopey hedonistic American troll said "I watch television and it tells me to eat meat. I must eat meat".

It's just food to you, and you're just too stupid to see otherwise.

Can't you think for yourself?

re:Hey leafeaters - 2004/09/18 09:01 Why yes! Of course I can think for myself. I think you're a fucking asshole for chiming in with your diatribe toward me. Let me also inform you that I am definitely American and extremely proud of it. Do you have a problem with
Americans? Let me also state for the record that I am not a dope or a troll & I'm far from fat. 165 pounds, 5'10", lean and chiseled. Gym rat here.
Television has never had a bearing on my cuisine preference. I am perfectly capable of making my own choices in life. Speaking of choices my wife is serving veal cutlet tonight. I'll eat an extra piece in your honor.
Have a leafy life skippy.

re:Hey leafeaters - 2004/09/18 13:45 Most "oriental cuisines" include meat as an ingredient. Don't blame meat for your lack of imagination. Many people who eat meat manage to vary their diets, even "orientals."

Your diet is commercially grown. Commercially grown grains and legumes, like soybeans, require large tractors and heavy machinery for planting and harvesting and processing. Those farm machines kill and injure many animals. Your diet, like one which includes meat, is not free of the suffering or death of sentient beings.

You're apparently ignorant of how your vegetables, grains, and legumes are grown, not to mention how animals are really treated on farms. You should throw out your animal rights propaganda and go visit a farm to see for yourself how animals are treated.

Of course you do, your self-righteousness is apparent. Do you grow all your own food or do you buy grains, legumes, and vegetables at the store? If you buy it, you can safely assume animals died to get it to your table.

Your self-righteousness is much more disgusting, especially as it's misplaced. Your meals are every bit as bloody as anyone else's.

Go gaze at your navel and contemplate how smug and self-righteous you really are. You've yet to consider how your food is grown, and the cost to animals in routine agriculture. You're a charlatan: you only give animals lip-service.
