Foxhunting. - 2005/04/08 09:23
Basically, "The Queen's Speech", stated that the matter would once again be put to an open vote.
Is it good enough?
I think not.
The Labour Party has broken its promises to outlaw "Hunting With Hounds"
Until this matter is resolved, they should be treated as liars and hypocrites.

They will drag the issue out to the next election Michael, they will then make further promises and expect the electorate to believe them.
But I have to agree with Pete (who) they are the best we have. With the exception of that fat pillock Prescott.

Good question, some sites you could visit are
http://www.animalaid.org.uk
http://www.ciwf.co.uk/
http://www.league.uk.com/
www.workingforwildlife.org.uk
www.roots-of-blood.org.uk www.killhunting.org.uk
Many proclaimed groups are only in conservation for what they can get out of it in financial rewards, the crooks, conmen and groups to avoid because they directly slaughter millions of animals annually
are RSPB, Woodland Trust, Wildlife Trusts, SNH, English Nature, WWT etc many are just fronts for shooting groups, for example the RSPB run Abernethy in partnership with hunters. You will never find this explained in their glossy brochures proclaiming how they "protect" wildlife.
Best bet is, before you donate to ANY charity, write and ask them a few simple questions, like do you kill wildlife that are claimed pests, do you use herbicides and pesticides, how much in every pound donated goes directly to the cause?
If they are afraid to answer the questions, and try to bullshit their way past them, you know where not to send you money.
Good luck and if you do find a really worthy cause, let us all know.

Certainly seems that way.
It also illustrates the point I have made several times on this, and other NGs, most of the posters are here to make a name for themselves as opposed to addressing the subject of the forum.
This backdown by our governement has gone without challenge from any UK poster. Are they not interested in the fact that they have been conned by the false promises made by the the Labour Party?
I do not expect this particular subject is important to anyone in the US, but you have responded, this does not say much for the credibility of UK posters.
Thanks for your interest.

I was under the impression that was what Labour was proposing: Labour MPs had been pressing the Government to reintroduce the Bill, complete with the total ban, and overcome the opposition of the House of Lords by using the Parliament Act. http://tinyurl.com/wwv6 (telegraph)
I never presume to know what politicians will or won't do; kind of like trying to predict landfall of a hurricane.
Yes -- predominantly urban-dwellers who lack enlightenment about nature and agriculture.
I don't think one can trust the word of terrorists. Their extremism causes them to violate with the bullet-box the will of the ballot-box. The fastest way to end "the nonsense" (as you too kindly put it) is to stand against and crush their aggression, not to cave in to it. That's my opinion, anyway.

What? you mean you were naive enough to actually have faith in a UK party? give me a break, trust no barstard, use them when they are good, abuse them when they are bad, Labour are the best party we have, but that still doesn't make them worth any more than a pile of goose shit, and their word even less.
All we can do is keep the pressure up

No, and to be fair, Labour followed through with their end of the deal. They set it for a vote, received a majority, and sent it to the Lords where it's lingered. Labour is now set to override the Lords by using the Parliament Act.
Why? They've done what they said they would. You have a legal process there, and it's been followed.
